Bore water is derived from groundwater, which is derived from rain that has naturally seeped into the ground and accumulated in the crevices between soil and rocks. Aquifers are the layers and masses of water that make up these subsurface spaces. A bore (well) or a network of bores is used to bring groundwater to the surface.
